I have been invited several times over the years to
participate in the
Acousmania Festival, hosted by the RBC and curated
by Romania's greatest
living composers, Iancu Dumitrescu and Ana-Maria Avram.
It is one of the vanguard festivals for contemporary
music worldwide, and represents to
the world the culmination of the whole tradition of
Romanian music going,
as you know, back to Enescu,
via Olah, Stroe,
Niculescu, and
so many
others. It would be a great shame, if, just at this
time when Romania is
opening out towards Europe, your support were to be
withdrawn from such
an astonishing cultural treasure.
